In work led by Kevin Whitley and published today in Nature Microbiology, we demonstrate that septal cell wall synthesis in Bacillus subtilis follows a one-track model, where both the motion and activity of the septal PG synthesis machinery is asynchronous with FtsZ dynamics. Link to paper
