About Me

Time spent in several clinical microbiology labs during my undergraduate degree led me to develop a broad interest in the mechanistic principles that underpin microbial life at the nanoscale. I joined the Holden Lab in October 2023 to carry out my final-year research project as part of an Integrated Master's (MBio) in Biomedical Science at the University of Warwick. My Master's project focused on developing a cryofixation strategy for advanced light microscopy studies of bacterial molecular machines.

As a BBSRC-MIBTP funded PhD student based in the Holden and Stansfeld Research Groups, I combine computational biochemistry and single-molecule biophysics to study how the Gram-negative pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa builds its cell wall during division. Understanding this process could inform the development of novel cell wall synthesis inhibitors to combat antimicrobial resistance.
